Since leaving Carlisle I have always tried to paddle my own canoe without the support of the government. My children cannot speak a word of Indian. Carlisle has shown me the way and I am trying to better it.

The seed of Carlisle has taken root and the Indians are changing to the roots realizing that it is their only salvation and are fast becoming civilized.

The Indians are glad and appreciated that their children are educated for it makes them civilized, too.

Made for activist and sovereignty defender Leonard Peltier’s 76th birthday. To commemorate his life & struggle as America’s longest held political prisoner I made this piece. In it you’ll find an abstract dark bison for every year of his life he’s been unjustly caged behind bars. (43)For every year of his life spent in freedom, you’ll find peaceful more in focus white bison. (33)At the front is a large shooting star white buffalo, to hopefully symbolize a soon to come new year of freedom.

My recent drive to raise awareness about the need to #freeleonardpeltier is inspired by our current climate of action as well as the activism & documentation work of @leonard_pod and all who’ve contributed to it.
